In spite of this long history, archaeology is only now beginning to provide answers to long-standing questions about the most prominent prehistoric monuments. As usual, these answers suggest new research questions. Since such monumental architecture was created around the world, researchers from all continents are asked to address these questions, in order to make this meeting truly comparative.
